BAMA Technology Ltd. Co. was founded in 2010 in Ankara to conduct technological research and development studies on Robotic Rehabilitation Systems. It is Turkey's first and only manufacturer of robotic rehabilitation equipment and has been supplying products to the domestic and global markets in compliance with international quality standards and regulations since 2013. BAMA Technology Ltd. Co. continues its mechanical, electronic, and software development activities in the METU Technopolis R&D center with its specialist engineer personnel, and continues its production and after-sales services in the Ostim production workshop.
Contributing to the treatment of walking difficulties in Turkey and Europe with the RoboGait gait rehabilitation robot, BAMA Teknoloji opened the door to exports to the USA. According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent, BAMA Technology, operating in METU Technopolis, has been conducting R&D studies on robotic rehabilitation systems since 2010. BAMA Teknoloji, the first and only domestic manufacturer established in Ankara in this field, has become one of the first 4 manufacturers worldwide to produce in this field with the RoboGait gait rehabilitation robot. BAMA Teknoloji, one of Turkey's exemplary "start-up" entrepreneurial companies with its establishment and development, was established with the support of KOSGEB and TUBITAK and successfully completed its R&D projects with the support it received from the state. The company quickly commercialized the product it created and successfully performed import substitution in the domestic market and expanded abroad.
The company's overseas activities started with the European market. In this context, RoboGait devices started to be used in clinics in Poland, Romania and Hungary. RoboGait has finally managed to enter the US FDA Approved Medical Device List. The company will soon enter the US medical devices market with RoboGait.
Within the scope of the "Turkey Innovation Week" organized for the 8th time in 2019 by TİM under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, "Bama Teknoloji Medical Devices Consulting Health Information and Trade Ltd. Şti. is the second" in the category of "Innovation Resources SME". was determined as the second.
RoboGait was developed as a robot-assisted gait rehabilitation system used to regain and develop this ability in cases of loss of walking ability due to traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, stroke, neurological or orthopedic reasons. This method has an important place in early rehabilitation. A combined treatment is aimed by activating the dysfunctional lower extremity in a natural gait pattern, activating the neuronal pathway. While traditional locomotor therapy is a power intensive method performed with two or three physiotherapists through parallel bars, RoboGait offers an effective treatment method that can be applied by a single user.
